“The life so short, the craft so long to learn.”
–Geoffrey Chaucer

Chris Culler

So said Chaucer, father of English literature who might also have added “The Culler’s Tale” to the Millers and Bakers of his Canterbury Tales.

Drawn from the notion of the definition of “cull,” writers “pick out from others, select” just the right words that become the precise sentences that grow into paragraphs and finally into the colorful stories we tell one another.  This ever long-learning aspirational craft is no small feat, which is probably why we call it literary fiction.

Cullerful in addition is a play on the name of this imprint’s first author (and editor) Chris Culler whose cinematic novels have been influenced by her work as a film industry story analyst plus culled from the changing artistic community of Venice, California where she lives.

Joined by artists and writers from Venice 3.1 Magazine, this boutique imprint aspires to publish the works and stories from a full global spectrum of authors with tales to tell.  We’re in our infancy, ever aware of “the life so short, the craft so long to learn,” but we keep culling!
